Most of the scenes from the '73 campout were taken at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Alexandria. Rows of spit-shined, arrow-straight, magazine-quality cars waited in the staging lanes for an afternoon cruise around the Alexandria area lakes. The next Fall Campout we hit came about three years later, at Sullivan’s Resort near Brainerd. Rolling in with a roadworn ‘39 Ford coupe, a secondhand suitcase-sized pop-up tent trailer and a brand-new bride, little did I know we had started a tradition. Over the years, we made it to many of the Fall Campout events and the camera went along to every one. Here are a few more shots that I hope you'll enjoy.
